Christine Gilbert was born and raised in Michigan (northern midwest in the United States). She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Hope College and a Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary, both in Holland Michigan.

Following ordination, Christine served as Minister of Herkimer Reformed Church in upstate New York for eight years. In 2006 Christine joined the Seasons of the Spirit development team, an international, ecumenical, lectionary-based resource for Christian Education and worship. While part of the Season's team, Christine met her Aussie husband, Sean. She immigrated to Adelaide in March 2011 and together they share five children.

Christine enjoys writing poetry, hiking, reading (especially historical fiction), watching movies (dramas and romantic comedies are her favourite) and playing board games. She's beginning to understand cricket and loves to watch rugby.

Christine is serving in the Uniting Church of Australia through a covenantal agreement with her home denomination, the United Church of Christ.
