A Story of Hope
Dear allMy Project on Education and Trauma Counselling in South Sudanese camps has attracted the Anglican World Head of Churches to visit the refugees camp in Belameling and Adjumani. This project began in ADJUMANI supported by my great friends in Australia. The visit to the camps included two Archbishops of Anglican churches in Uganda and Equatoria, South Sudan, the Ugandan minister for refugees, UNHR representatives, UK High Commissioner to Uganda and Moyo District Officials.
The Ugandan minister for refugees asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to act as an Ambassador for PEACE in South Sudan. The Archbishop willingly accepted the request without reservations The minister also stated that he would campaign for technical Education youths in the refugees camps. I will anxiously wait and pray for implementation of the two promises.I am currently planning to take the two Kajokeji Bishops to meet the UK Commissioner and minister for refugees in Kampala next week. The second move is to take the two Bishops to Juba to meet other five Equatorial Bishops. I am very lucky that the head of Equatorian Churches joined the visit of the camps by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This gave me the chance to talk to him about our program for Peace in South Sudan My final plan is to go to Nairobi to meet with officials of the African Council of Churches (ACC). In 1972, ACC negotiated peace for South Sudan after many years of Anya Nya war. We pray that the same thing will happen in 2017.My team will continue with the program of Education and Trauma counseling for the South Sudanese refugees in UgandaI am still experiencing a lot of financial hardships because my car is old and failing to handling the rough African roads. I will keep on praying for my God and friends to keep on supporting my struggle for peace in South Sudan.ShalomBen

Ben has been a part of the Brougham Place Community over many years. He returned to South Sudan after the civil war ended to help rebuild. In the years since, war has returned to South Sudan. This letter tells part of Ben’s ongoing story of peacemaking.
