Intergenerational History Activity
Creating our history of the last 100 years
- Gather a group of people of significantly different ages. Ask them to help you tell a story of our joint history.
- Across the top of the table on the next page, different decades have been grouped together into an era. Down the left-hand side of the table is something to be identified for each of the eras.
- Ask each person to provide an appropriate answer for each box, and write them down.

Reflect together:
- How many boxes can you fill in?
- What do you notice that is different (or the same) across the generations?
- How easy did you find it to remember some of the answers? Does it matter how old you are?
- What do you know now that you didn’t know 10 minutes ago?
Here is a printable version (2 pages) of this activity.
