Call to Worship
Opening Prayer
We Sing: Christ the Lord is Risen Today
Christ the Lord is risen today:
Hallelujah!
Let the whole creation say:
Hallelujah!
Raise your joys and triumphs high:
Hallelujah!
Sing now, heaven, and earth reply:
Hallelujah!
Love’s redeeming work is done;
fought the fight, the battle won;
vain the stone, the watch, the seal:
Christ has burst the gates of hell.
Lives again our glorious king;
where, O death, is now your sting?
Once he died our souls to save;
where your victory, O grave?
Soar we now where Christ has led,
following our exalted Head;
made like him, like him we rise:
ours the cross, the grave, the skies.

Choral Anthem
Jesus is Risen Alleluia

Scripture Reading:
Luke 24:36b-48
While they were talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and
said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and terrified, and
thought that they were seeing a ghost.
He said to them, “Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in
your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself.
Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see
that I have.”
And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
While in their joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, he said
to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of
broiled fish, and he took it and ate in their presence.
Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I
was still with you – that everything written about me in the law of
Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.”
Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and he said to
them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise
from the dead on the third day,” and that repentance and forgiveness of
sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from
Jerusalem.
You are witnesses of these things.
From this, shines forth the Word of God.
Thanks be to God.
Address
We Sing: The Heavens Shall Declare
The heavens shall declare
The glory of his name,
all creation bow at the coming of the King:
every eye shall see,
every heart will know,
every knee shall bow,
every tongue confess
holy, holy, holy is the Lord;
see the coming of the King:
holy is the Lord.

Prayers of the People
The Lord’s Prayer
…Let us pray together in the words that Jesus taught us:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours
now and forever. Amen.
We Sing: Eternal Light Shine in My Heart
Eternal light, shine in my heart;
eternal hope, lift up my eyes;
eternal power, be my support;
eternal wisdom, make me wise.
Eternal life, raise me from death;
eternal brightness, help me see;
eternal Spirit, give me breath;
eternal Saviour, come to me;
until by your most costly grace,
invited by your holy word,
at last I come before your face
to know you, my eternal God.
