Call to Worship
Lord, when we can’t see another way,
We come to worship.
..Together, we will find our way into joy.
Together, we will be filled with God’s love and grace.
We Sing: Christ Be Our Light
Longing for light, we wait in darkness.
Longing for truth, we turn to you.
Make us your own, your holy people,
light for the world to see.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has power to save us.
Make us your living voice.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for food, many are hungry.
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others,
shared until all are fed.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for shelter, many are homeless.
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building, sheltering others
walls made of living stone.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Many the gifts, many the people,
many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another,
making your kingdom come.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.

Words of Assurance
Passing of the Peace
May the peace of God be with you.
And also with you.
Stewardship – All Are Welcome
God’s love ever reaches out welcoming each one to be part of God’s
kingdom of love and grace.
We are connected by grace.
Life in community is a gift. Here we are known and loved welcoming one
another as we grow in faith.
We are connected by grace.
We Sing: All Are Welcome (verse 5 only)
Let us build a house where all are named,
their songs and visions heard
and loved and treasured, taught and claimed
as words within the Word.
Built of tears and cries and laughter,
prayers of faith and songs of grace,
let this house proclaim from floor to rafter:
All are welcome, all are welcome,
all are welcome in this place.

Choral Anthem – Take My Life (Consecration)
Rosemary Nairn
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:14-30
‘For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned his slaves and
entrusted his property to them; to one he gave five talents, to another
two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went
away. The one who had received the five talents went off at once and
traded with them, and made five more talents. In the same way, the one
who had the two talents made two more talents. But the one who had
received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the ground and hid
his master’s money. After a long time the master of those slaves came
and settled accounts with them. Then the one who had received the five
talents came forward, bringing five more talents, saying, “Master, you
handed over to me five talents; see, I have made five more talents.” His
master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have
been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many
things; enter into the joy of your master.” And the one with the two
talents also came forward, saying, “Master, you handed over to me two
talents; see, I have made two more talents.” His master said to him,
“Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a
few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy
of your master.” Then the one who had received the one talent also came
forward, saying, “Master, I knew that you were a harsh man, reaping
where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed; so
I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you
have what is yours.” But his master replied, “You wicked and lazy slave!
You knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I
did not scatter? Then you ought to have invested my money with the
bankers, and on my return I would have received what was my own with
interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the
ten talents. For to all those who have, more will be given, and they
will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they
have will be taken away. As for this worthless slave, throw him into the
outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of
teeth.”

Message
We Sing: May Our Lives
May our lives and our prayers be one
As our hopes shape the roads we walk on
And when our work and our dreaming’s done
May our lives and our prayers be one.
Within the rhythm of our days
We take the time to muse and pray
The fears we face, the tears we taste
We view in light of holy grace.
May our lives and our prayers be one
As our hopes shape the roads we walk on
And when our work and our dreaming’s done
May our lives and our prayers be one.
We name our deepest hopes and dreams
For those we love and all in need
We picture how the world could be
We live the change we want to see.
May our lives and our prayers be one
As our hopes shape the roads we walk on
And when our work and our dreaming’s done
May our lives and our prayers be one.

Prayers of the People
Response:
Welcoming God,
Hear our prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours
now and forever. Amen.

Offering Prayer
God, whose giving knows no end,
we offer up the treasure that you have entrusted to
us;
we offer up the skills and time that you have graciously given
to us;
we offer up ourselves in service and praise.
Receive these gifts by your grace.
Multiply and use them through the power of the Holy
Spirit
to accomplish Christ’s work of love in the world. Amen.
We Sing: In a Church That’s Moving Forward
In a church that’s moving forward,
this is where we long to be.
in a church with gifts abounding
and the grace to set them free.
in a church of many cultures,
in a church both old and young,
in a church of many accents
when the song of Christ is sung.
With a Lord who leads the mission
for a people on the way,
with a Lord who’s healing blindness,
lets the voiceless have their say.
with a Lord of every nation,
with a Lord of every place,
with a Lord who shines compassion
on to every tribe and race.
On a road that leads to wholeness
when we’re broken or unsure,
on a road to understanding
where division finds a cure;
on a road where all may travel,
on a road where many roam,
on a road we walk together,
as we make our journey home.
