Call to Worship
All of life is sacred. All time and space resound with the presence of
the Divine.
We come to this place and time
seeking communion with the Spirit of God.
Here is the sacrament of grace, centred in the teachings of Jesus, made
known through Word and worship. We sing with hearts full of praise for
the Triune God – Creator – source of all that is sacred; The Christ –
Pain-bearer and Redeemer; and Spirit of power, connection and
comfort.
We gather our voices together – young and old, rich and
poor,
joyful and saddened, enthusiastic and reluctant, certain and
uncertain- but all of us drawn to the mystery of love and the
wonder of God.
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to our God.
Let us give God thanks and praise.
Anthem: – Awake, My Soul and Sing

Prayer
We Sing: God the Great Mystery
God the great mystery, source of our trust,
ground of our being and shaper of dust;
elusive presence to whom we belong,
heartbeat and rhythm, both singer and song.
Through all this borrowed life we seek your face,
listening with wonder and mapping each trace;
burning bush, still small voice, manna and quail,
all gifts and signs that your love will prevail.
Jesus, the Word, human child and divine,
we are the branches and you are the vine,
speak to us still of this imminent grace,
“I’m in you, you’re in me, here in this place!”
Great Spirit pulsing twixt heaven and earth,
heart always beating with signs of new birth:
loving us, lifting us, turning us ’round,
’til all our songs with compassion resound.
God, take our minds, hearts and souls to your own.
Live in us, breathe in us, through us be known.
Gather our worlds in your wondrous embrace
’til all is love, mercy, goodness and grace.
Words: Sharonne Price. Tune: George Campbell, Scottish traditional melody. Arr Rosemary Nairn – from Walk as One, Songs for Worship, Wattleseed Publishing 2022.
Passing of the Peace

Scripture Readings
Psalm 8
O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is
your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of babes and infants you have founded a bulwark
because of your foes, to silence the enemy and the avenger. When I look
at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that
you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of
them, mortals that you care for them? Yet you have made them a little
lower than God, and crowned them with glory and honour. You have given
them dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things
under their feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the
paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Sovereign, how majestic is
your name in all the earth!
John 1:1-5, 14, 16-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being
through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has
come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all
people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not
overcome it.
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his
glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.
From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. The law indeed
was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No
one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the
Father’s heart, who has made God known.
Responsive Prayer
Holy Love, Beginning and End,
beyond all Names:
giver of love and hope, life and its goodness.
We praise and adore you.
We Sing: (Please remain seated)
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
be still and know that I am God.
Jesus Christ,
Wisdom and Word:
lover of outcasts,
friend of the poor,
one of us, yet one with God,
crucified and risen,
life in the midst of death –
We learn from the Word and follow by grace
We Sing:
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
be still and know that I am God.
Holy Spirit,
Storm and Breath:
building bridges,
breaking chains,
waking the oppressed,
making us one,
unseen and unexpected,
untameable energy of life.
We listen for your prompting, ready to work for your justice and
change the world.
We Sing:
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
be still and know that I am God.

Holy Trinity, forever One,
whose nature is community;
unbounded dance of love:
in whom we love, and grow,
and know our neighbour,
life in all its fullness,
making all things new –
We praise and adore you.
Amen!
Scripture Reading
Matthew 28:16-20
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus
had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some
doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and
on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have
commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the
age.”

The Lord’s Prayer
…And now with the confidence of the children of God, let us pray the prayer Jesus taught us saying:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours
now and forever. Amen.

Prayer after Communion
We Sing: You Are Holy, You Are Whole
Part 1.
You are holy,
you are whole.
You are always evermore
than we ever understand.
You are always at hand.
Blessed are you coming near;
blessed are you coming here
to your church in wine and bread
raised from soil
raised from dead.
Part 2.
You are holy,
you are wholeness,
you are present,
let the cosmos praise you, Lord!
Hallelujah, hallelujah
hallelujah, hallelujah, our Lord!
