The Feast of Life
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” —Psalm 23:5
Psalm 23 is one of my favourite Bible chapters. I can recite it word for word. When in anxiety, worry and uncertainty, it brings me immediate relief and peace. They are also the verses to bring me to sleep at night!
I revisited Verse 5 lately. As familiar as it has already been, this verse reminds me of relying on God solely in times of difficulty. Why? Because at the end of the tunnel, desert and darkness, there is hope, victory and light. God is omniscient and omnipotent, and He has already prepared me a feast at the end of my desert journey. I don’t know my life journey but He knows and I know He knows. This faith and hope give me all the courage and confidence I need to walk on my life path that He deliberately designed for me.
Still in our early years of settling down in Australia, my family are tremendously encouraged by God to walk our daily life with Him, knowing He provides, and provides abundantly.
